Controversy at the Mill

Plymouth Parkway's scheduled game against Torpoint in the Peninsula League was called off an hour and a quarter before the game was scheduled to kick off due to a frozen pitch. This was considered a debatable decision and with so many officials and spectators expected at the game it was a great disappointment to the officials of Torpoint.

Club Confirms Review of Status

Due to the proposed Clubhouse Developments and the ever increasing costs involved in running a football club the size of Plymouth Parkway it was agreed at the January Executive Committee meeting to review the status of the Club.  Options include charity status due to the breadth of the social inclusion work we undertake, becoming a limited company by guarantee or other possibilities.  Chairman Mark Rowles who along with Jim Parsons the Club President have been tasked by the committee to report back their findings for the February meeting said " this review is urgently required as with the lease negotiations nearly concluded and the Bids for the Clubhouse at an advanced stage the status of the Club needs to be confirmed.  This especially the case when your capital and revenue costs for the financial year 2009 - 2010 could be in excess of £ 1.2 million.  These are exciting as well as scary times and the Club must ensure financial prudence."  Mark Rowles added- all clubs are having to review their finances and it is imperative that as a Club we have a management structure that is both flexible and professional and can meet the challenges of the current credit crunch."

Personal Thanks from the Chairman

Through the Website I would like to thank all the committee members, players and spectators at Plymouth Parkway who have supported me through quite a turbulent few months of personal issues to deal with.  I feel that I am coming through these issues and this should enable me to refocus my efforts on behalf of the Club, notably in the finalising of the Clubhouse development and the continued efforts to secure long term financial security for the Club.

Crowds averaging 188 per game

268 spectators attended our Boxing Day game against Elburton Villa and this crowd has improved our average gate to 188.  With our next four home games all being attractive fixtures including two cup ties and a local derby against Saltash United the Club hopes its average will rise to above 200 by the end of January 2008

Christmas Draw Results

All the winners are listed in the Club news section of this website.  Thank you to all who entered our draw and supported the Club.  Over thirty five prize winners.
