Plymouth Parkway 3   St Martins 0

Parkway progressed to the next round of the Devon Premier Cup with a hard fought 3 - 0 win against a hard working St Martins side in Exeter. The first half belonged to St Martins and they were unlucky to find themselves a goal down at half time thanks to a Simon Parnell strike.

Parkway improved in the second half and fitness certainly told as further goals from Alex Mitchell and Ross Avery secured the win.

Plymouth Parkway...4 Bere Alston...0

Parkway recovered well from last week's defeat by Torpoint Athletic to put in a strong performance against a Bere Alston side yet to get their Season going.

Dan Pethick went close on a couple of occasions for the hosts before Parkway got into gear.

A Simon Parnell 12th minute cross found Phil Daniels who scored from 18 yards.  Dan Worth added a second goal with a great left foot drive.

Mark Gilbery marked his debut with the next goal in the second half after Kirk Smith drew the keeper to allow Gilbery to side foot the ball into the net.

With time running out, Pete Foster made it 4 - 0 when he fired the ball into the netafter a Josh Norris shot came back to him off the crossbar.

Plymouth Parkway...3  Torpoint Athletic...5

RICKY CARDEW'S talented Torpoint squad have certainly given notice they do not intend to give up their title after this impressive victory at Bolitho Park.

Parkway had been touted as one of the teams expected to challenge the Tamarsiders, but they were undone by two late goals from Lewis Kershaw.

Their day of disappointment was completed when Lewis Young received his second caution of the game.

This game was a good advert for the league and ebbed and flowed with Young giving Parkway an eighth-minute lead.

Bradley Yeo's penalty restored parity, six minutes later, before two goals from Mark Sotheron, either side of Danny Worth's effort for Parkway, gave the visitors a 3-2 advantage.

Back came the home side with Ross Avery levelling before Kershaw's late brace settled this absorbing contest.

Plymouth Parkway...3  Launceston 0

PARKWAY maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a comfortable victory at Bolitho Park to remain part of the leading pack in the early table.

Kirk Smith converted a Lewis Young cross to give them a first half lead and victory was assured with a second half double from Phil Daniel.

Plymouth Parkway...1  Saltash United 1

In front of a great crowd of 110 Plymouth Parkway and local rivals Saltash United drew 1 - 1 at Bolitho Park.  Saltash United were the better team in the first half and deservedly took a 1 - 0 lead but Parkway improved in the second half and were rewarded with a penalty 10 minutes from time when the Saltash keeper caught the legs of a Parkway forward and Phil Daniels stepped up to equalise.  Parkway had chances to win the game in the closing stages but a draw was a fair result and both teams will be looking forward to their Season in the East Cornwall Premier League.

Saturday 15th August 2009

Plymouth Parkway...5    Tavistock 0

PARKWAY opened their Premier Division account in the best possible way with this impressive victory over their Devon rivals at Bolitho Park.

Two goals from Lewis Young gave Parkway a two-goal advantage at the break, but it was not until the last 15 minutes that two goals from Ross Avery plus Alex Mitchell's effort completed the scoring.

THE Tamarsiders are looking for their third consecutive championship and this victory at Burngullow Lane will send out a message that they mean business.

First half goals from Mark Sotheron, Dean Cardew and Darren Shephard put the visitors in command before Chris Kitson pulled a goal back with a second half penalty. But Torpoint were dominant and further goals from Dan Chapman and Lewis Kershaw sealed victory.
