Stoke Climsland 1-7 Plymouth Parkway
Another dreadful summer’s day but at least it secured Parkways first win of their friendlies to date.
Hunnisett decided to play 3 up for this fixture but the team just didn’t gel in this first half against a poor Duchy side. Rikki Jones added the first with a long range effort after 5 minutes but this was surpassed by Mikey Heys “Beckham” esq halfway effort, after he caught the keeper way off his line.
The home team scrapped and were forcing Parkway into mistakes who know they will have to correct come next weeks league opener. Mark Gilbery bustling as ever made it 3-0 at the break after a beautiful through ball by debutant 16yr old Harry Hook.
Playing against the driving rain in the second half, Hunnisett went back to a familiar 352 and subsequently the team stepped up their game. Mikey Heys in the hole having plenty of possession dictated the game. Ashley Wills forced his way into the game but it was another debutant, Alan Joslin that tapped home for 4-0. Adam Young was increasingly dangerous on the right linking up well and he finished a superb effort for 5-0. Minutes later Gilbery with his blistering pace cracked in the 6th.
Hunnisett changed personnel, then a mistake from a non cleared ball let Climsland spoil Sawyers clean sheet but Harry Hook was rewarded for his efforts after rounding the keeper to slot and home and complete the rout.

Plymouth Parkway 3rds 2-2 Edgecumbe
A great team display, in this Parkways first friendly of the season, in the end could have won it but a draw was a fair result against this Duchy Premier side.
Playing on a poor playing surface you could see both teams were desperate to play football. That they certainly did. Edgecumbe looking to run the ball down the flanks at any opportunity, while Parkway looked to play quick balls through the middle. Having lost 2 very good centre midfielders in the early pre-season, Hunnisett was desperate to put that position out to tender. Ben Beer coming back from injury after 2 years looked the part. But it was Mickey Heys the other centre midfielder that shone threw today though. Edgecumbe scored an easy first goal after a mistake from the dependable Dave Young. Allowing their midfielder to run too long with the ball to strike home. But some intricate play, between up for it Walton Gould and the bustling Joe Partridge kept the visitors at bay. The equalizer came from a corner, where new boy Heys volleyed home on his debut.
Parkway very up beat really took the game to Edgecumbe in the second half and latched onto a mistake with busy Mark Gilbery slotting home. Edgecumbe upped there game play and pushed Parkway all the way. Adam Moody having a fine game in the centre half position never let anything slip all afternoon. A few changes were made to bleed a couple of new faces in the form of Serge Bosanska and Ian Williams so things did change around a bit. However Parkway could have sealed it, if not from a glaring miss of last year’s top scorer Walton-Gould in the 85th minute. Edgecumbe never gave up and their equalizer came in the 93rd minute from a shot through a group of players, that the larger than usual Sawyer never saw.
