PREMIER DIVISION Cullompton Rangers...3 Plymouth Parkway...1

DAVE LEONARD'S reunion with Richard Pears and Lee Annunziatta did not go quite to plan as it was his old Tiverton team-mates who laid claim to the bragging rights.

"It was nice to see them but that was as far as it went," said Leonard, who had seen his side fall short of what was required in difficult conditions at Speeds Meadow.

"Basically, football's about two issues – when you have the ball and when you don't have the ball. We didn't do enough when we didn't have the ball," explained the Parkway boss.

Parkway only had themselves to blame for not making the most of their first half dominance and they could have easily been comfortably in the lead instead of going in at the interval level.

The visitors had a strong wind behind them in the first half and when Matt Cusack headed them into a 15th-minute lead things looked good for the travelling faithful.

But Cully had other ideas and they were level inside seven minutes when Harry Taylor's shot took a deflection on its way past Simon Zinn.

Cullompton made more of the conditions after the break and took the lead on the hour through Matt Dawson.

But their third goal, 10 minutes from time, owed a lot to luck. Danny Burwood's free-kick drifted over everyone and into the net off the underside of the crossbar.

Premier Division    Plymouth Parkway 6 - Falmouth 1

PARKWAY boss Dave Leonard could not have wished for a better start to life in the Peninsula League as his new-look Parkway side were far too powerful for Falmouth.

It took Parkway 15 minutes to open their account for the season. Aaron Cusack's stinging shot was brilliantly saved by home goalkeeper Chris Symons, but from the resultant corner Matt Hawke headed home from close range.

A two-goal lead was attained on the stroke of half-time, Paul Baker finishing clinically from 10 yards.

It took the visitors until the 69th minute to add to their score, John Heveran hitting a fine low volley home from the edge of the box.

Lewis Young, who came on as a 79th-minute substitute, took just a minute to score his first goal for the club after being set up by Aaron Cusack before quickly adding his second to make it 5-0.

Sam Matthews completed Parkway's scoring as he beat Symons with a fine angled shot.

There was a massive seven minutes of stoppage time and it was in the fourth that a foul on Sam Hunter gave Falmouth's player-manager the chance to grab Town's consolation from the penalty spot.
